Many students here have aspirations to one day become famous writers, athletes, or singers, but these dreams are available to you now. Sulley Frank, Braxton Cutler, and Zach Brady are achieving their goals of becoming well-known in the music industry now.
Earlier this year they released one of their first songs, “Green Trees”. This song is now available on iTunes, Apple music, Spotify, and YouTube. But this great feat had to begin somewhere.
“I’ve been writing songs for a while, but I think Jonah Taylor inspired me and Zach to start putting music on Spotify and ITunes and Youtube,” senior Sully Frank said. “Sully came to me and he had kind of an idea for a song. He had the lyrics, the chords, and everything. And he came to me to make it more official,” senior Zach Brady said.
But these boys aren’t your average wanna-be pros. They all have had numerous years of experience in preparation for this.
“I’ve pretended to write music before…, [but] now, that I’m working with Zach everything is really cool now. Zach is a genius. I actually had him help with the Dartman video for the assembly. And he’s just a genius with music,” senior Braxton Cutler said. “I’ve been writing music for about 5 years and I’ve been playing guitar all my life,” Frank said. Brady when asked if he’d written music before said , “Yeah. I kind of started doing electronic music, but now I’m starting to lean more towards pop type music, but I also do orchestra scores,” and he also plays the piano, violin, and guitar.

But they didn’t start off as music professionals. They had to start from somewhere and they know how hard it is to get motivated when you don’t know where to begin.

“Keep following your dream and I’d say electronics is the thing you have to be the most familiar with. ‘Cause I’d be writing songs…and just not going anywhere because you can’t put them out there. So get familiar with electronics,” Frank said. “I say go for it because it’s one of the coolest things you can do. Where you just spend your time and you’re able express yourself in ways that connect with other people and that’s one of the coolest things you can do,” Cutler said. “Just go for it. It’s hard to know where to go and who to talk to, but if you’re committed to enough and you feel like you have potential then you should try to find a way to make it work,” Brady said.
