Faculty Spotlight: Jared Jensen

Faculty Spotlight: Jared Jensen

As you’ve recently walked the halls of Davis High, you’ve probably noticed a new face: A brand-new school Officer. This man is Officer Jared Jensen, and today we are putting the spotlight on him.

Officer Jensen has been a member of the force for just over 8 years now, and has only recently moved to Kaysville. This is his first time working in a High School, and he is excited to get to know the community. He came from Clinton and was previously an officer for the K9 Unit. But that’s not all he’s done with the force; he has also worked with US Marshalls to hunt fugitives, which he still does on occasion.

In the field, he has also been on patrol and done work centered around giving tickets and making arrests. He has helped with medical issues as well, which he says is the hardest part of his job, especially with young children. Officer Jensen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Weber State University, and is currently working on his Master’s, which will be completed in December. His education has been valuable in his work, and he is excited to finish his second degree.

But there is more to Officer Jensen than just his career;  he wants to get to know and help Davis High students and focus on developing relationships with them. He says that he wants to “be seen as a friend, not just someone you see when you get in trouble”. His favorite part of the job is going home at the end of the day knowing that he helped someone with a problem. He is married with two lovely children: a three-year-old son and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys fishing anywhere he can and rooting for the University of Utah Football Team. Welcome to Davis, Officer Jensen!
