Boys Basketball: Starting 5 receives All-Region Honors

Davis High basketball had a very successful season thanks to all the hardworking region players. Getting first in all of region was first,Tyson Garff starting power forward.

“When I got the call I got very excited! I didn’t make it last year which bummed me out so it felt to come back this year and make it.” states Tyson Garff.

And second, Jake Sampson starting shooting guard. This means, they were two of the five most skilled players in our region.

“Once I was told I made 1st team all region I got very excited because it is a huge honor to be considered to be up there with all these great players. 1st team feels great.” says Jake Sampson.

Placing second in all of region was Brendon Redford starting shooting guard and Trevan Leonhardt staring point guard. Which means they were 2 of the top 10 players in our region.

Then K.O. Fisher starting center and senior captain got honor mention.

Davis starting five all put up great numbers this season. Jake Sampson averaged 15.0 points per game, 1.3 assist per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, 0.9 steals per game, and 0.3 blocks per game.

Trevan Leonhardt averaged 9.8 points per game, 4.7 assists per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, 2.4 steals per game, and 0.2 blocks per game.

Brendon Redford averaged 9.2 points per game, 1.8 assists per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, 0.8 steals per game, and 0.5 blocks per game.

Tyson Garff averaged 16.6 points per game, 2.6 assists per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 1.1 steals per game, and 0.5 blocks per game.

K.O. Fisher averaged 4.3 points per game, 0.8 assists per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, 0.9 steals per game, and 0.2 blocks per game. These five players had very good seasons leading there team to the state semi-finals.
