Boys golf makes it to state

Kennedy Barker, Writer

The boys golf team here at Davis has had an amazing season and to top it all off they are in the state championship! The boys have been working so hard and really deserve it.

Our boys will be playing at Saratoga Springs on Monday and Tuesday. We have 6 boys that have qualified and are ready to bring their a-game.

“The boys are just really fun to be around and it’s fun socially” Luke said. Luke Simmons is a Junior, and this is his second year on the team.

Simmons loves the team and is ecstatic that they made it to state this year as they did not last year. Luke is one of the top 6 players on the team that has the privilege to play for State.

“Determined” says Dent. That was the word he used to describe the team this year. Dent continued to say, “we had a rough year last year and this year we are headed to state”.

Logan Dent is another part of the 6 boys, and this is Logan’s first year on the team as a junior. Logan enjoys practices and just the atmosphere of the team.

“We have really good coaches, and the boys are amazing” claimed Peyton. Peyton Love is a Junior as well and is a returning player. Love has nothing negative to say about being on the team and finds joy in being a part of something.

The boys golf team is bouncing back from last year and has all the potential to win state. They took 4th in the region, but they will take 1st in state!

The coaches have helped encourage these boys and helped them get to the place they are today. We wish them the best of luck at state and hope that they will bring home the win!
