Dance Company ends the year with spring concert - Words that move us

Selecting costumes, choreographing dances, and organizing dancers are only some of the many things that go into creating Dance Company’s annual Spring Concert. The dancers have spent hours rehearsing, choreographing, and preparing for this final concert of the year, which will be held April 16th and 17th at 7pm.

Senior Golda Dopp has worked hard to choreograph a dance for the concert. Her dance is based on the quote “no coward soul is mine.” She has worked hard on the choreography and is excited to see how the dance turns out.

“I really like the ending result. I really like the process too, but when you have all your dancers that are also your friends and all of a sudden it just works out, it’s a really good feeling,” said Dopp. “It’s kind of weird to see that you put it all together and created it, but your dancers have to love the experience.”

Senior Chloe Millburn is also excited for her final Dance Company concert. “Finale’s going to be awesome,” said Millburn. “It’s going to be so cool. I’m just mostly excited to be with the dancers for the last time, be on stage, feel everyone, it’s the coolest thing, being on stage and performing.”

Both Millburn and Dopp are planning on taking their dancing experience from dance company with them as they graduate. Dopp will be starting at Utah Valley University in the fall and plans on majoring in dance.

“I’m also thinking of [majoring in] English, art, or French,” said Dopp, “but I’ll definitely keep dancing!”

Millburn is also planning on dancing at UVU. She said, “I think I’m going to double major in nursing and modern dance, because I’m doing dance there, that’s what my scholarship is for, and that’s my plan for now.”
