With over 765 students enrolled in the many AP classes at Davis, and over 1400 tests being ordered, AP classes are preparing students for college classes.

Delaney Carnahan, a senior at davis, said, “I think all AP [classes] are good. It just depends on what you’re interested in, in terms of career and such.” With students who know what they want to do for their career, AP classes can give them a taste of what to expect.

Savannah Barclay, senior, said, “Whether or not I pass the tests, I’ve learned a lot from the classes, including working hard and staying determined.”

AP classes count for college credit, if the student passes the test. Carnahan said, “I take them to save money [in] college, and if I have to redo them, they prepare me for the rigorous coursework I know i’ll have.”

Barclay agrees. “I figure taking AP classes will save me money and time in college, If I pass the test that is.”

Students with a high GPA, who also take AP classes, are more qualified for a larger variety of scholarships, compared to students who don’t take AP classes. Carnahan said “ I think [AP classes] are worth taking, because I know it will help me in the long run and present scholarship opportunities.”
