This summer from June 1 through July 14, the Twilight Concert Series will be held at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City, featuring a setlist of artists such as Big Grams, Fitz and the Tantrums, and several others. Every year in the summer, this music festival hosts several different performers and is open for all ages to attend at low ticket prices starting at $5.00.

“Sometimes bands I like that wouldn’t usually come to Utah come and it’s cheap to get in so it’s really cool,” junior Sofia Diaz said.

Twilight Concerts have been a significant part of Salt Lake City’s culture for generations as it is a way for locals to see popular artists who rarely tour or perform in Utah.

“I think that since not a lot of music festivals are held close in this area, they just hold it every year to get people from Utah to come see concerts and to get that musical experience,” Diaz said.

Although Twilight Concerts offer people of all ages cheap admission to see some of their favorite artists, some complications may include the possible presence of drugs, large unruly crowds, and more.

“It’s hard to get parking for in Salt Lake at the park and there’s a lot of weird people there sometimes and a lot of drugs,” junior Tristan Cox said.

Despite potential difficulties, Twilight Concerts remain very popular throughout the state of Utah as they are easy outlets which allow anyone interested in live music to attend. Ultimately, audience members should be aware of their own comfortability in settings with large crowds before attending.

“If you’re one of those people that doesn’t like handling a lot of people around them and are claustrophobic, I don’t think I would recommend it, but if you’re not, go for it. It’s way fun,” Diaz said.
