Kissing is universally known by teenagers to be a fun, weekend activity with a significant other. However many unwanted risks come from this seemingly pleasant experience.

“Two-thirds of the world’s population under the age of 50 have herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1), which is known as the oral kind of herpes,” the World Health Organization states.

The most common kind of kissing disease is mono; however, most teenagers expect it will be them to contract it. Statistics are crippling about how many actually have it.

“95 percent of Americans will contract the disease within their lifetime,” ABC news reports.

The dangers of this “harmless” activity is now not so harmless. Overall, teenagers should be made aware of the dangers and risks associated with kissing.
