Star Wars is a movie series that took the world by storm when it first premiered in 1977. Last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens drove the same excitement into the hearts of Jedi’s, and Storm Troopers across the world.  However, the most recent movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi didn’t seem to have the same effect.

I thought it was good. I didn’t love it, but it was good,” senior Alex Madsen said.

People seem to relate to the characters and scenarios in the original Star Wars trilogy rather than the newer movies.

“If I was a Jedi I would probably most likely relate to Obi Wan. It’d be lit,” said senior, Carson Sato.

The original characters also seem to be more popular than newer characters such as Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. Senior Braden Hintze backed Satos claim by exclaiming his love for the classic characters.

“Luke, and then Chewy. Chewy! Chewy. I could talk about Chewy forever.” senior Braden Hintze said.

Whether you’re a fan of the classic R2D2 or are all about BB8, you can’t deny that Star Wars is a series that not only has great action, a great plot, and amazing characters, but inspires hope in the masses.
