Dancing with the Stars is a popular reality dance competition on ABC. The show pairs professional ballroom dancers with famous singers, actors, and sports professionals and puts them through weeks of hard training. After each week, they compete in these dances in front of a set of judges and get scored. These judges are renowned ballroom dancers and even past DWTS winners. Their judges scores and votes from viewers at home determine whether they get to move on to the next week or get sent home.

Season 32 Pros

This season of DWTS contain Pros such as Jenna Johnson, Val Chermvosiky, Danielle Karagoch, Pasha Pashkov, and more. Many of the pros from this season have won a Mirrorball in the past. These pros train non-stop during their DWTS season and outside of it. Many of the Pros from this season are married to one another. They’ve been competing together for over a decade, and they have become best friends and family. The newest edition to the DWTS family is Rylee Arnold. She is former Mirrorball winner, Lindsay Arnold’s, little sister. She grew up in Utah and has been dancing from a young age. She is 18 years old and many of the pros view her as a younger sister.

Season 32 Stars

The season 32 stars consist of, singer Jason Mraz, reality tv star, Harry Jowsey, actress, Xochitl Gomez, previous bachelorette, Charity Lawson and more. These stars come into the show with little to no dance experience. They are put to the test week after week and pushed to their limits. Some of these stars have turned into phenomenal dancers. The first “10” of the season was given to Charity Lawson, former bachelorette and partner Artem. Followed by actress Xochitl Gomez and partner Val Chmervosiky. Each week, one star doesn’t receive enough votes or isn’t bringing their best moves to the table and is eliminated.

Rylee and Harry controversy

Rylee Arnold and Harry Jowsey are partnered up this season. Harry has a very large fan base on his own. Rylee has a big fan base between her own fans, and her sister’s. Rylee is a beautiful dancer and has a lot of patience with Harry. Harry is 6’4 and very awkward. He is not the best dancer, but they have been saved by their fans many times. People have become critical of their dancing and the fact that they haven’t been eliminated yet. They both post a lot on social media and have played the role of a couple. There are conspiracies that their romance is all for the show and for more votes. They have stayed on the show because of their fans and because they have brought many new viewers to the show this season.

Len Goodman tribute

Len Goodman was the heart and soul of DWTS. He was the head judge from 2005 to 2022. During season 31, he announced that he would not be returning as a judge. The cast was shocked to hear of his passing in April of 2023. Len was an amazing judge and gave ballroom dance an amazing reputation. During the “most memorable year” night of season 32, past and present Pros performed a beautiful waltz in honor of Len. Jenna Johnson and her husband Val Chmervosiky choreographed and beautiful and touching piece to the song “Moon River”. This dance brought past pros back to the ballroom. Current judge and 6-time Mirrorball champion, Derek Hough, and other previous pros said beautiful words about Len before the dance. Current host and previous Mirrorball champion, Julianne Hough, joined them on stage as well.

Though Len’s tribute was absolutely beautiful, it sparked some drama as well. Previous Mirrorball champions such as Cheryl Burke and Sharna Burgess were not invited to dance in the tribute. They both posted on social media about how the tribute was absolutely beautiful, but it broke their hearts that they weren’t invited to be part of it. Cheryl announced that she would be retiring as a pro on DWTS last season. While Sharna took last season off because she had a baby. She was shocked to find out she wouldn’t be invited to return for season 32. Both of these women have contributed so much to the dance world and Dancing with the Stars. It is very sad that they weren’t able to pay tribute to Len with the rest of the dancers.

Season 32 group dance

During last night’s episode, the remaining 8 couples split off into two groups and made a group dance. The first group was the group “young n style”. They had the younger side of the competitors and were dancing to gangdom style. They had stars Lele Pons, Harry Jowsey, Xochitl Gomez and Charity Lawson. They performed an energetic and exciting piece and received the first perfect score of the season. The second group was named “4 everybody” they danced to “Everybody” by the backstreet boys. They had stars Jason Mraz, Barry Williams, Alyson Hannigan and Ariana Madix on their team. They did very well but did not receive all 10’s like the other group.

The group dance gives judges a chance to see the competitors in a new element dancing with other people. This also gives the stars a chance to stand out when dancing with other couples. Group dances are a fun opportunity for the cast to get together and perform as a team rather than only competitors.

Conclusion

Dancing with the Stars is a fun and heartwarming show. Watching and growing with the stars is a huge part of the process. Being able to watch your favorite couple dance every week and continue to watch them grow is such a fun experience. These pros also find ways into your heart, and you begin to love watching them every season. We watch as the Dancing with the Stars family grows, and they impress us every season. They have a tight nit bond and all love each other dearly. They show their love and express it with their partner and on the dance floor.D
